| - Doftana was a Romanian prison, sometimes referred to as "the Romanian Bastille". Built in 1895 in connection with the nearby salt mines, from 1921 it began to be used to detain political prisoners, among them Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, who was the Prime Minister of Romania (1952–1955), and the Chairman of the State Council of Romania (1961–1965), and Nicolae Ceaușescu, who was General Secretary of Romanian Communist Party (1965–1989), and the first President of Romania (1968–1989). The prison is situated close to the village with the same name, in the Telega commune of Prahova County. (en)

- Więzienie Doftana wybudowano w 1895, w Rumunii. Czasem określano je mianem "Rumuńskiej Bastylio". W latach czterdziestych dwudziestego wieku używane było do przetrzymywania więźniów politycznych. Znajduje się niedaleko wsi Doftana w okręgu Prahova. W czasach komunistycznych zamieniono je ostatecznie w muzeum, które od tego czasu opustoszało i popadło w ruinę. - De Doftanagevangenis is een Roemeense gevangenis die in de jaren 30 werd gebruikt om politieke gevangenen vast te houden. Het gebouw werd in 1895 opgetrokken en de bouw ervan hield verband met de mijnbouw in de streek. Het is gesitueerd nabij een dorp met dezelfde naam, in de gemeente Telega. Vanaf 1921 werd het gebruikt voor het opsluiten van politieke tegenstanders. Tijdens het communistische regime werd het omgezet in een museum, dat wegens gebrek aan fondsen is opgeheven. (nl)

- Das Gefängnis Doftana befindet sich im Kreis Prahova in Rumänien und wurde 1895 erbaut. Während der 1930er Jahre befanden sich dort auch politische Gefangene, darunter Kommunisten wie Nicolae Ceaușescu, Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej und Chivu Stoica, die später zentrale Posten in der Sozialistischen Republik Rumänien einnehmen sollten. Der spätere Methodistenpfarrer Richard Wurmbrand war als PCR-Mitglied und Kommunist dort Insasse, und der siebenbürgisch-sächsische Politiker Rudolf Brandsch verstarb dort 1953. Aber auch Faschisten wie Corneliu Zelea Codreanu und Horia Sima waren dort inhaftiert. (de)
- La prison de Doftana (en roumain : Închisoarea Doftana) est un ancien pénitencier de Roumanie, situé dans le village de Doftana, dans la commune de Telega (județ de Prahova), à quelques kilomètres de la ville de Câmpina, à une centaine de kilomètres au nord de Bucarest. Construite en 1895, la prison fut utilisée dans les années 1930 pour incarcérer des détenus politiques (notamment communistes).
