Durlstotherium is an extinct genus of mammal from the Early Cretaceous. It contains a single species, Durlstotherium newmani. The type specimen was found in Durlston Bay, Dorset, after which the genus was named. D. newmani was named after a British pub landlord, Charlie Newman. Durlstotherium and two of its contemporaries, and Durlstodon, had tribosphenidan (three-cusped) molars, which are an advanced characteristic among eutherian mammals and suggest that the group emerged earlier than the Early Cretaceous.

Identyfikacji znaleziska jako szczątków dwóch ssaków żyjących w epoce wczesnej kredy dokonał Steven C. Sweetman, profesor University of Portsmouth. Pierwszy gatunek otrzymał nazwę Durlstotherium newmani, zaś drugi Durlstodon ensomi. Po raz pierwszy obydwa gatunki opisano naukowo w listopadzie 2017 roku na łamach „Acta Palaeontologica Polonica”. Nazwa rodzajowa Durlstotherium stanowi odniesienie do , zlokalizowanej w hrabstwie Dorset, na terenie którego pozyskano holotyp i jedyną próbkę, oraz greckiego przyrostka θηριον therion („bestia”) powszechnie używanego w nazwach ssaków. Epitet gatunkowy newmani jest eponimem mającym na celu upamiętnienie Charliego Newmana, paleontologa zamieszkującego w tym rejonie. (pl)
