| - Elaine of Astolat (/ˈæstəˌlæt, -ɑːt/), also known as Elayne of Ascolat and other variants of the name, is a figure in Arthurian legend. She is a lady from the castle of Astolat who dies of her unrequited love for Sir Lancelot. Well-known versions of her story appear in Sir Thomas Malory's 1485 book Le Morte d'Arthur, Alfred, Lord Tennyson's mid-19th-century Idylls of the King, and Tennyson's poem "The Lady of Shalott". She should not be confused with Elaine of Corbenic, the mother of Galahad by Lancelot. (en)

Figlia di Bernard di Astolat, si innamorò perdutamente di Sir Lancillotto del Lago e morì di crepacuore, perché lui non la ricambiava. La sua storia costituisce la base di La Dama di Shalott, un celebre poemetto romantico composto dal poeta inglese Alfred Tennyson nel 1833 (una seconda versione è del 1842). Astolat è una città britannica immaginaria, che altre fonti chiamano Ascolat, Escalot o, da Tennyson, Shalott. (it)
- Elaine z Astolat – postać jednej z legend arturiańskich. Córka Bernarda z Astolat, znana też jako Pani z Shalott. Rzucono na nią śmiertelne przekleństwo, które na zawsze miało ją uwięzić na wyspie Shalott – gdyby ją opuściła, miała ją czekać niechybna śmierć. Spędzała całe dnie w zamku, tkając gobelin, jednak pewnego dnia spostrzegła przez okno pięknego rycerza w lśniącej zbroi. Był to sir Lancelot, w którym zakochała się od pierwszego wejrzenia. Porzuciła pracę, opuściła zamek i – nie bacząc na klątwę – popłynęła łodzią do Camelotu. Po drodze słabła coraz bardziej, ale nie zawróciła. Gdy wpłynęła do Camelotu, umarła. Rycerze i mieszczanie zebrali się nad rzeką, aby podziwiać jej urodę. Lancelot powiedział, że nigdy nie widział nikogo piękniejszego i prosił o litość dla niej u Boga. (pl)
