Emmanuele Giuseppe Gabriele Gennaro Fergola (Naples, 30 October 1830 – Naples, 5 April 1915) was an Italian astronomer, mathematician, and also Senator of the Kingdom of Italy. Son of the Bourbon general Gennaro Fergola, he came from a family with an important cultural and artistic tradition. Nicola, a cousin of his grandfather, was the founder of the Neapolitan school of geometry; his uncle Francesco was the most important of the geographic engineers of the Topographical Office directed by Rizzi Zannoni; Salvatore, an official painter of the court of Francis I of Bourbon, was an exponent of landscape painting, the School of Posillipo in the style of Jakob Philipp Hackert.

Er war der Sohn des Generals des Königs von Neapel und Sizilien (1793–1870). Zu seinen Verwandten zählten der Mathematiker und Physiker (1753–1824), der Geodät (1791–1845, Bruder von Nicola), der Maler Salvatore Fergola (1799–1874) und dessen Sohn, der Maler (1821–1894). Er unterrichtete an der Militärakademie ab 1860 Analysis und ab 1890 Astronomie an der Universität Neapel. Gleichzeitig war er 1890 bis zu seinem Ruhestand 1910 Direktor des Observatoriums auf dem Capodimonte bei Neapel. 1889 bis 1891 war er Rektor der Universität. (de)
