The Executive of 1822 (Greek: Εκτελεστικό του 1822) was one of the two chambers that were set up in the First National Assembly at Epidaurus. There were five members, and they had to implement the decisions of Legislative Corps. The term of the office was initially set to one year. The Executive's tenure lasted from January 1822 to April 1823, when the Second National Assembly at Astros elected a new Executive. The Executive's members, as elected by the First National Assembly, were:

Το «Εκτελεστικόν», ήταν πενταμελές όργανο (Πρόεδρος και τέσσερα μέλη), με ετήσια θητεία, κατά τα πρότυπα του Διευθυντηρίου της Πρώτης Γαλλικής ΔημοκρατίαςΗ διοίκηση των κυβερνητικών ζητημάτων ανατέθηκε σε οχτώ υπουργούς (μινίστρους), επικεφαλής των οποίων τέθηκε ο Αρχιγραμματέας της Επικράτειας που χειριζόταν ταυτόγχρονα και το πιο σημαντικό υπουργείο εκείνη την περίοδο, των Εξωτερικών. Οι μινίστροι όπως και όλο το υπόλοιπο προσωπικό της δημόσιας διοίκησης διορίζονταν και παύονταν από το «Εκτελεστικόν». Το πρώτο έργο που ανέλαβε να φέρει εις πέρας το «Εκτελεστικόν» ήταν η οργάνωση των δημοσίων υπηρεσιών. Ο Μαυροκορδάτος εξέδωσε μια σειρά από διατάγματα που αφορούσαν την σύσταση περιφερειακών αρχών, τις λεπτομέρειες οργάνωσης των Υπουργείων, τη δημιουργία Πρωτοκόλλου και αρχείων, την αλληλογραφία μεταξύ των υπηρεσιών, τον όρκο των δημοσίων υπαλλήλων, κ.α.Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, τον Απρίλιο του 1822 ύστερα από πρόταση της Κυβέρνησης, το Βουλευτικό ψήφισε τον νόμο για την πρώτη διοικητική διαίρεση της χώρας, - τον λεγόμενο Οργανισμό των Επαρχιών.
