He is said to have instituted the principle of an eye for an eye into Irish law, after which the behaviour of the Irish improved. The chronology of Geoffrey Keating's Foras Feasa ar Éirinn dates his reign to 104–113, that of the Annals of the Four Masters to 110–119. The Lebor Gabála Érenn synchronises his reign with that of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius (161–180). He ruled for nine or ten years before dying in his bed, and was succeeded by Cathair Mór. One of his sons, Conn Cétchathach, would succeed Cathair. Two other sons, Fiacha Suighe, ancestor of the Dal Fiachrach Suighe, and Eochaid Finn, are named in medieval sources. - Fedlimid Rechtmar („Prawodawca”) – na wpół legendarny zwierzchni król Irlandii z dynastii Milezjan (linia Eremona) w latach 164-174. Syn zwierzchniego króla Irlandii Tuathala I Techtmara („Prawowitego”) i jego żony Baine, córki Scala Balba, króla Anglów. Według średniowiecznej irlandzkiej legendy i historycznej tradycji objął władzę w wyniku zabójstwa swego poprzednika i zabójcy ojca, Mala mac Rochraide. Mówi się o nim, że wprowadził zasadę „oko za oko” do irlandzkiego prawa, po którym w kraju zapanował spokój. Z tego powodu otrzymał przydomek Rechtmar. Jego matka zbudowała Rathmor (Wielka Forteca) na równinie Magh Leamhna. Po śmierci została pochowana na Cnoc-Baine (Wzgórze Baine), nazwanym na jej cześć, na tej samej równinie, zwanej Clossach, w Tyrone. Fedlimid poślubił Ugnę (Uguę, Unę, Agnę) Ollchrothach, córkę Inderga (lub Lochlioha), króla Duńczyków. Po dziewięciu lub dziesięciu latach panowania, zmarł śmiercią naturalną. Został zastąpiony przez króla Leinsteru Cathaira Mora („Wielkiego”), syna Fedlimida Firurglaisa, w piątym stopniu potomka arcykróla Conchobara I Abradruada. Jeden z synów Fedlimida to Conn Cédcathach, przyszły zwierzchni król. Dwa inni synowie są wymienieni w średniowiecznych źródłach: Fiacha Suigde (Suide, Suidge), przodek , rodów O’Dolan, O’Brick z Dunbrick i O’Faelan z Dun Faelan w pobliżu Cashel; zaś Eochaid Finnfothart to przodek rodu O’Nowlan z Fowerty (lub Foharta) w Lease (lub Leix) i Saint Bridget.
