The Flag of the Brussels-Capital Region consists of a stylized yellow, grey and white iris on a blue background. Note that this is the flag of the whole Brussels Region, and the City of Brussels municipality has a different flag. The first flag was adopted by the Capital Region in 1991. A new flag based on the city's current logo became official in early 2015.

La bandera fou adoptada, no exempta de polèmica, per 46 vots a favor, 30 en contra i 3 abstencions. (ca)

Oorspronkelijk betrof het een goudkleurige iris op een donkerblauwe achtergrond, naar een ontwerp van Jacques Richez dat in 1991 verkozen werd uit een publieke wedstrijd. La bandera fou adoptada, no exempta de polèmica, per 46 vots a favor, 30 en contra i 3 abstencions. L'iris o lliri groc es tracta d'una planta molt adaptada a les zones d'aiguamolls i molt presents en aquest territori on creix en abundància. La llegenda diu que va donar una victòria clara al duc de Brabant en veure que creixia en abundància al voltant de les muralles de la ciutat i així saber per on portar les tropes enemigues perquè s'enfonsessin en els aiguamolls.
