Follow the leader is a children's game. Players first choose a leader or "head of the line" and the remaining players (the followers) all line up behind the leader. The leader then moves around and all the players have to mimic the leader's actions. Any players who fail to follow or mimic the leader are out of the game. When only one follower remains, that player then becomes the new leader, and the game begins anew with all players joining the line once again.

* Se elige a un jugador para hacer de "líder" o "monito mayor" y todos los demás se colocan en fila india detrás de él. El líder empieza a caminar y todos la siguen imitando los gestos que vaya haciendo y siguiendo el recorrido que marque.
* A lo largo del camino puede ir saltando, corriendo, agachándose y pasando por diferentes sitios intentando despistar al resto de jugadores. Al cabo de un rato cede el sitio, se pone al final de la cola y se vuelve a jugar con un nuevo líder.
* Existe una variación en la que el líder es llamado madre, en el que se canta, Lo que hace la madre hacen los hijos. (es)
- Följa John är en barnlek där en person utses att vara "John". De övriga skall sedan efterlikna "John" i allt vad denne gör. Den som misslyckas blir vanligtvis utslagen. Deltagaren som först blir utslagen får ibland vara "John" i nästa omgång. Följa John kommer från filmen Peter Pan (1953) där "de vilda pojkarna" skall följa John. Leken är snarlik Simon säger (engelska: Simon Says), en från början engelsk lek av medeltida ursprung. Där ingår utsägandet av frasen "Simon säger" i tävlingsreglerna. (sv)
