The Languedoc was a 80-gun ship of the line of the French Navy and flagship of Admiral d'Estaing. She was offered to King Louis XV by the Languedoc, as part of the Don des vaisseaux, a national effort to rebuild the navy after the Seven Years' War. She was designed by the naval architect Joseph Coulomb, and funded by a don des vaisseaux donation from the Estates of Languedoc.

  • Le Languedoc est un navire de guerre français en service de 1766 à 1799. Il est lancé dans la période de sursaut patriotique qui suit les défaites de la guerre de Sept Ans. C'est un vaisseau de ligne de deuxième rang, portant 80 canons sur deux ponts. Il sert de vaisseau amiral au comte d'Estaing lors de sa campagne en Amérique en 1778-1779, puis participe à la bataille des Saintes en 1782. Rebaptisé l'Antifédéraliste en 1794 par le gouvernement révolutionnaire, puis la Victoire en 1795, il participe à diverses opérations en Méditerranée. Il est démoli en 1799. (fr)
