Gerhard Ludvig Lahde (19 October 1765 – 30 November 1833), usually referred to as G. L. Lahde, was a Danish printmaker and publisher. He is remembered for his hand-coloured, slightly caricatured series of prints of traditional costumes created in collaboration with Johannes Senn as well as depictions of major historic events such as the Copenhagen Fire of 1795 and the British bombardments of Copenhagen in 1801 and 1807. He also created many portraits of prominent people of his time.

  • Gerhard Ludvig Lahde (* 19. Oktober 1765 in Bremen; † 30. November 1833 in Kopenhagen) war ein deutsch-dänischer Kupferstecher. Gerhard Ludwig Lahde war ein Sohn des Bremer Schneidermeisters Johann Friedrich Lahde und dessen Ehefrau Catharina Margarethe Drucker. Er begann eine Lehre bei einem Goldschmied in Kiel, kam dort in Bekanntschaft zu dem gleichaltrigen Maler Claudius Ditlev Fritzsch und ging mit diesem 1786 nach Kopenhagen. Hier kam er in Kontakt zur Akademie und wandte sich dem Kupferstich zu. Gerhard Ludvig Lahde starb an den Folgen eines Schlaganfalls. (de)

Lahde började som guldsmedslärling i Kiel och kom 1787 till Köpenhamn för att utbilda sig till konstnär. Under det han där genomgick akademien, skaffade han sig uppehälle som guldsmed och lärde sig kopparstickarkonsten hos Clemens. Han var en för sin tid duktig kopparstickare, bäst i porträttet. Därjämte skildrade han samtida märkliga tilldragelser, som Kristiansborgs slottsbrand 1794, slaget på Köpenhamns redd 1801 och Köpenhamns belägring och bombardemang 1807. Han utgav även en serie porträtt av framstående män, läroböcker i teckning med mera. (sv)
