German submarine U-655 was a Type VIIC U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II. She was the first U-boat sunk in operation against the Arctic convoys.

Le sous-marin fut commandé le 9 octobre 1939 à Hambourg (Howaldtswerke Hamburg AG), sa quille fut posée le 10 août 1940, il fut lancé le 5 juin 1941 et mis en service le 11 août 1941, sous le commandement du Kapitänleutnant Adolf Dumrese. L'U-655 n'endommagea ou ne coula aucun navire au cours de l'unique patrouille (12 jours en mer) qu'il effectua. Il fut coulé en mars 1942 en mer de Barents par la Royal Navy. O U-655 esteve em operação entre os anos de 1942 e 1943, realizando neste período uma , na qual não afundou nenhuma embarcação aliada. Foi afundado no mar de Barents no dia 24 de março de 1942 após ser fortemente danificado pelo navio britânico , causando a morte de todos os 45 tripulantes. De U-655 was de enige Duitse onderzeeër die het konvooi ontmoette wat hem duur te staan kwam.De U-655 werd gecommandeerd door korvettenkapitein . Maar de voorgenomen aanval werd geen succes. U-655 was de enige Duitse onderzeeër die de schepen van QP9 ontmoette en de U-boot werd door de escorterende mijnenveger geramd en tot zinken gebracht. Човен був закладений на верфі суднобудівної компанії «Howaldtswerke Hamburg AG» у Гамбурзі 10 серпня 1940 року під заводським номером 804, спущений на воду 5 червня 1941 року, 11 серпня 1941 року увійшов до складу 6-ї флотилії. Єдиним командиром човна був капітан-лейтенант Адольф Думрезе. Човен зробив 1 бойовий похід, у якому не потопив та не пошкодив жодного судна. (uk)
