- Gomentrude (598 – fl. 630), also Gomatrude, Gométrude, or Gomatrudis, was a Frankish queen consort by marriage to king Dagobert I. It is possible that Gomentrude was descended from , king of the Franks in Cambrai, through his son , Duke of the Franks. She was the younger sister of queen Sichilde, third wife of King Clotaire II. Their brother was likely lord (assuming Sichilde is the mother of Charibert II), who tried to defend the rights of his nephew on the kingdom of Aquitaine against the ambitions of Dagobert I. (en)

Na rozdíl od ostatních členů merovejské vládnoucí rodiny raného středověku je historická osobnost Gomatrudy doložená několika historickými prameny. Kromě starší Historia Francorum je podrobně popisována také v Gesta Dagoberti I regis Francorum, životopise Dagoberta I. v Liber Historiae Francorum. Gomatruda se narodila kolem roku 598 a měla nejméně dva sourozence, Sichildu a . Sichildis, která byla třetí manželkou Chlothara II., se spolu s ambiciózním bratrem Brodulfem snažila získat užší spojení jejich rodiny s rodinou královskou, a tím získat větší politickou moc v říši. Jejich úsilí vyvrcholilo v roce 624 sňatkem Gomatrudy s Chlotharovým nejstarším synem, pozdějším nástupcem Dagobertem I., v královském paláci v Clichy. Sňatek se uskutečnil proti Dagobertově vůli, a tak je zjevné, že ke sňatku došlo na přímý pokyn krále Chlothara II. Celá situace vedla ke krizi ve Franské říši, protože Dagobert, jako místokrál Austrasie, na oplátku požadoval Champagne, Toul a Verdun v původním rozsahu, což jeho otec odmítl. Teprve v roce 626 nebo 627 rozhodčí rada pod vedením Arnulfa z Met vyjednala kompromis, na základě něhož byl následně urovnán spor mezi Chlotharem II. a jeho synem Dagobertem na říšském sněmu v Clichy. Krátce po smrti svého otce Chlothara II. v zimě 629/630 zapudil nově korunovaný král Dagobert I. svou manželku Gomatrudu. Podle Gesta Dagoberti kvůli manželčině neplodnosti: Gomatrudina předpokládaná neplodnost s největší pravděpodobností nebyla příčinou rozvodu. Příčinou byla spíše Dagobertova touha ukončit manželský svazek, který byl uzavřen proti jeho vůli, a tím se osvobodit od vlivu rodiny své manželky a nevlastní matky. (cs)

- Gomentrude (598 – fl. 630), also Gomatrude, Gométrude, or Gomatrudis, was a Frankish queen consort by marriage to king Dagobert I. It is possible that Gomentrude was descended from , king of the Franks in Cambrai, through his son , Duke of the Franks. She was the younger sister of queen Sichilde, third wife of King Clotaire II. Their brother was likely lord (assuming Sichilde is the mother of Charibert II), who tried to defend the rights of his nephew on the kingdom of Aquitaine against the ambitions of Dagobert I. The marriage was arranged against the will of Dagobert in 625. When he became king in 629, he repudiated her one year after his succession, officially because of her claimed infertility. In 625, Clotaire married her to his own son, Dagobert, who was already king of Austrasia . The ceremony took place in Clichy, at the palace of Reuilly (Romiliacum), or at the royal villa of Clippiacum located in the current commune of Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis). Three days later, a violent feud arose between father and son, with the son claiming all of Austrasia. An arbitration of twelve Frankish lords ended up settling the issue in Dagobert's favor. In 629, on the death of Clotaire, Dagobert became the sole king of the Franks. He then repudiated Gomentrude at the palace of Reuilly to marry Nanthild, under a pretext of her infertility. It is unknown what became of Gomentrude after this, although she may have gone to live with her sister-in-law Bruère. (en)
