| - El gótico en Polonia o gótico polaco son denominaciones historiográficas para el arte gótico en la zona del reino de Polonia, sólo parcialmente coincidente con la actual Polonia. En la primera mitad del siglo XIII se introdujo el estilo con la llegada de las órdenes franciscana y dominica. - The Gothic architecture arrived in Poland in the first half of the 13th century with the arrival of the Dominican and Franciscan orders. The first elements of the new style are evident in the foundation of the Dominican Trinity church in Kraków (1226–1250), built by Bishop Iwo Odrowąż. Rebuilding of the Wrocław Cathedral, started in 1244, was another early manifestation of the Gothic style. The earliest building in Poland built entirely in the Gothic style is the chapel of St. Hedwig in Trzebnica (1268–1269), on the grounds of a Cistercian monastery. (en)
- Na ziemie polskie gotyk dotarł wraz z cystersami, którzy zastosowali elementy wczesnogotyckie w 1214 roku w kościele Cysterek w Trzebnicy (sklepienie żebrowe w krypcie wschodniej i pod emporą) oraz w kościołach zakonnych w Jędrzejowie z 1210 roku i Koprzywnicy. Silniejszym nurtem architektura gotycka zaczęła się rozpowszechniać dzięki zakonom dominikanów i franciszkanów pod koniec pierwszej połowy XIII wieku. Pierwsze elementy nowego stylu są widoczne w budowanej z fundacji Iwona Odrowąża w latach 1226-1250 ceglanej bazylice św. Trójcy w Krakowie. W tym dominikańskim kościele, należącym do czasów późnoromańskich, wykonano ostrołukowe łęki międzynawowe.
