Studiował medycynę i nauki przyrodnicze na Uniwersytecie w Dorpacie. Potem był profesorem zoologii na katedrze macierzystej uczelni. Zajmował się przede wszystkim pluskwiakami, pozostawił monografię poświęconą pluskwiakom Liwonii (Die Rhynchoten Livlands in systematischer Folge beschrieben). (pl) Густав Флор (Gustav Flor) — немецкий энтомолог. (ru) Gustav August Adam Flor (* 13. August 1829 in , Gouvernement Livland; † 13. Mai 1883 in Dorpat) war ein livländischer (deutschbaltischer) Entomologe. Flor studierte ab 1847 Zoologie und ab 1852 Medizin an der Kaiserlichen Universität zu Dorpat, an der er 1856 in Medizin promoviert wurde (Rhynchotorum livonicorum descriptio). 1857 bis 1859 setzte er sein Zoologie- und Medizinstudium in Prag, Wien, Montpellier und Paris fort. 1860 wurde er Dozent, 1861 außerordentlicher und 1862 ordentlicher Professor für Zoologie in Dorpat. Ab 1860 leitete er das Zoologische Kabinett der Universität (das spätere Zoologische Museum). (de) Gustav August Adam von Flor (Limbaži, 1829-Tartu, 13 de mayo de 1883) fue un zoólogo y entomólogo alemán (del antiguo Imperio alemán). Von Flor estudió medicina y ciencias naturales en la Universidad de Tartu, posteriormente fue profesor de zoología.En 1860 fue director del departamento de zoología, puesto que mantuvo hasta su muerte en 1883 (El departamento de zoología fue el predecesor del Museo de Zoología en la Universidad de Tartu, donde todavía están los 11.815 especímenes que compusieron su colección de insectos).
