| - Heißwecken, auch Heißewecken oder Hedewigs, sind ein traditionelles Gebäck, das im deutschen Sprachraum seit dem Spätmittelalter nachgewiesen ist und in Nord- und Nordwestdeutschland vor dem Beginn der vorösterlichen Fastenzeit gegessen wurde, speziell von Rosenmontag bis Aschermittwoch. Es handelte sich dabei in der Grundform um süße Milchbrötchen aus Weizenmehl, die warm gegessen wurden. Das Verbreitungsgebiet der Heißwecken umfasste im Wesentlichen den Einflussbereich der Hanse. Es gibt zahlreiche Dialektbezeichnungen, die fast alle auf den Begriff Heißwecken zurückzuführen sind, am häufigsten Hedewäggen, Hetwegge, Heiteweggen und Heetwich. (de)
- Mazanec či velikonoční bochník je bochánek pečený zpravidla na Velikonoce ze sladkého kynutého těsta, které se používá i na vánočku, patřící mezi nejstarší druhy českého obřadního pečiva. Pečení mazance probíhalo tradičně na Bílou sobotu. V závislosti na tom, pro koho byl mazanec dříve určen, se lišilo jeho složení. Pro čeledíny se dělal mazanec z obyčejného kynutého těsta, naproti tomu pro návštěvy bylo těsto obohaceno rozinkami a mandlemi. Jako mazanec se kdysi označoval i koláč z krajíčků sušeného chleba, který se pak namočil do vína a prokládal se makovou či mandlovou kaší. (cs)
- A Heißwecke, HICE-veck-ə, (plural: Heißwecken), also called a Heißewecke or Hedewig, is a traditional type of currant bun that goes back, within the German-speaking region of Europe, at least to the Late Middle Ages. In North and Northwest Germany it is eaten before the beginning of the pre-Easter fasting period known as Lent, especially from Rose Monday (Rosenmontag) to Ash Wednesday (Aschermittwoch). It is basically a sweet bread roll made with milk and wheat flour that is eaten hot, hence the name: Heißwecken literally means "hot rolls". Heißwecken are predominantly eaten in the area influenced by the Hanseatic League i.e. most of northern Europe from what is now the Netherlands to Poland and the Baltic Sea coast. - Le mazanec ou pain de Pâques est une sorte pain-brioche cuit habituellement à Pâques à partir d'une pâte levée sucrée. Cette pâte est également utilisée pour la vánočka. C'est l'une des plus anciennes pâtisseries cérémonielles tchèques. La préparation du mazanec se fait traditionnellement le samedi saint. Selon les personnes à qui il était destiné, sa composition variait. Pour les serviteurs, la pâte était ordinaire, tandis qu'elle était enrichie de raisins secs et d'amandes pour les visiteurs. (fr)
