Frederick Hendrik (Henry) Habibe (Aruba, May 6, 1940) is an Aruban poet, literary critic and literary man. He published his poetry mainly in the period following the creation of his magazine Watapana (1968–1972). He writes most of his poems in the Papiamento language, occasionally in Spanish and Dutch.

In 1985 he received his PhD at the University of Leiden on the study El compromiso en la poesía afro-antillana de Cuba y Puerto Rico, that treated Nicolás Guillén and other poets as its main subject. He also published studies on the work of Pierre Lauffer, and . He wrote reviews for the Antillian newspapers: Amigoe di Curacao and Beurs- en Nieuwsberichten (1986–1997). Henry Habib is a member of the advisory board of the (Caribbean Study group of Arts) of the Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde (Society of Dutch Literature) in Leiden. (en)

Zijn gedichten schrijft hij voornamelijk in het Papiaments, incidenteel ook in het Spaans en Nederlands. Habibe studeerde Spaanse taal- en letterkunde aan de Rijksuniversiteit Leiden en de Katholieke Universiteit in Nijmegen. In zijn studententijd richtte hij het literaire tijdschrift Watapana op. Na zijn afstuderen doceerde hij o.m. Spaans aan het en deed hij literair onderzoek op Puerto Rico. In 1985 promoveerde hij in Leiden op de studie El compromiso en la poesía afro-antillana de Cuba y Puerto Rico over Nicolás Guillén en anderen. Verder publiceerde hij studies over het werk van Pierre Lauffer, en Luis Daal. Recensies schreef hij voor de Antilliaanse dagbladen Amigoe di Curaçao en Beurs- en Nieuwsberichten (1986-1997). Henry Habibe is lid van de adviesraad van de Werkgroep Caraïbische Letteren van de Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde in Leiden. (nl)
