The Hercules DFXE is an American diesel truck engine. Part of the Hercules DFX series, the DFXE is a naturally aspirated overhead valve inline six-cylinder. With a bore of 5.375 in (136.5 mm) and a stroke of 6 in (150 mm), for a displacement of 895 cu in (14,670 cc), it developed 185 hp (138 kW) at 1,600 rpm and 665 lbf⋅ft (902 N⋅m) of torque at 1200 rpm. Designed for a British requirement, this was one of the few diesel engines used in US tactical trucks. The engine was used in upright or horizontal configurations.
