- El puente Alto (nombre original en inglés: High Level Bridge) cruza sobre el río Tyne entre las ciudades de Newcastle upon Tyne y Gateshead, en la región del Nordeste de Inglaterra. Es un puente de carretera y ferrocarril que se considera la obra de ingeniería histórica más notable de la zona. Su construcción estuvo a cargo de la , una estirpe de industriales de cuyos talleres procedieron las 5050 toneladas de hierro empleadas en la obra. George Hawks, alcalde de Gateshead, colocó la última piedra de la estructura el 7 de junio de 1849, y el puente fue inaugurado oficialmente por la reina Victoria ese mismo año. (es)
- The High Level Bridge is a road and railway bridge spanning the River Tyne between Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead in North East England. It is considered the most notable historical engineering work in the city. It was built by the Hawks family from 5,050 tons of iron. George Hawks, Mayor of Gateshead, drove in the last key of the structure on 7 June 1849, and the bridge was officially opened by Queen Victoria later that year. (en)
