| - Bible je nejen teologická kniha, ale i kniha historická. Celé její poselství je založeno na historických . Biblický popis těchto událostí a s nimi spojených reálií byl po celá staletí jediným pramenem pro jejich historické poznání. Hlavně na jejím základě byly během 19. a 20. století objeveny a zrekonstruovány starověké dějiny mnoha oblastí Blízkého Východu. I dnes je Bible cenným historickým dokumentem, který pomáhá při archeologických výzkumech a poznávání dějin Blízkého Východu. (cs)
