| - El periodo de 1834 a 1910 de la Historia de Portugal es de grandes trasformaciones tanto en la política como en la economía. Una vez caído el régimen absolutista (miguelista), la política portuguesa del siglo XIX está influenciada por las ideas liberales. Los liberales formaban un grupo heterogéneo que solo trabajó unido para acabar con el absolutismo, pero las discrepancias entre las distintas tendencias ideológicas continuaron. Había liberales moderados y liberales progresistas enfrentados respecto a la nueva constitución política de Portugal. Mientras que los progresistas, llamados septembristas, querían volver a implantar la Constitución de 1821, los moderados, llamados cartistas, querían imponer la Constitución de 1826. (es)
- La Monarchia costituzionale portoghese fu un periodo della storia del Portogallo in cui si produssero molti cambiamenti politici. Dopo la sconfitta degli assolutisti, la politica portoghese dell'Ottocento fu marcata dalle idee liberali. I liberali portoghesi formavano un gruppo eterogeneo e avevano in comune solamente il fatto di aver lottato contro gli assolutisti: per questo motivo si divisero fin dall'inizio in "moderati" e "progressisti". Il primo punto di scontro tra le due fazioni riguardava la costituzione da dare al paese. Mentre i progressisti, denominati "Settembristi", volevano tornare a reimpiantare la costituzione del 1821, i moderati, chiamati "Cartisti", volevano adottare la costituzione del 1826. (it)
- اتسمت مملكة البرتغال في عهد بيت براغانزا بكونها مَلَكيّة دستورية منذ نهاية الحرب الأهلية الليبرالية في عام 1834 إلى الثورة الجمهورية عام 1910. تُبِعَت الاضطرابات الأولية للانقلابات التي قادها الجنرالات المنتصرون في الحرب الأهلية بإقامة نظام برلماني غير مستقر في «التناوب» الحكومي تميّز بنمو الحزب الجمهوري البرتغالي. يُعدّ السبب الرئيسي في ذلك هو عدم كفاءة الحكومات الملكية وعدم اهتمام الملوك الواضح في حكم البلاد، بالإضافة إلى تفاقم الوضع بسبب الإنذار البريطاني للتخلي عن مشروع «الخريطة الوردية» البرتغالي الذي هدف لتوحيد غرب إفريقيا البرتغالية وشرق إفريقيا البرتغالية (أنغولا وموزمبيق اليوم). - The Kingdom of Portugal under the House of Braganza was a constitutional monarchy from the end of the Liberal Civil War in 1834 to the Republican Revolution of 1910. The initial turmoil of coups d'état perpetrated by the victorious generals of the Civil War was followed by an unstable parliamentary system of governmental "rotation" marked by the growth of the Portuguese Republican Party. This was caused mainly by the inefficiency of the monarchic governments as well as the monarchs' apparent lack of interest in governing the country, aggravated by the British ultimatum for the abandonment of the Portuguese "pink map" project that united Portuguese West Africa and Portuguese East Africa (today's Angola and Mozambique). Foi um período de grande progresso, tanto no nível militar, cultural, político, industrial e econômica.
