| - حقل هابل العميق الجنوبي (بالإنجليزية: Hubble Deep Field South) هو مزيج مركب من عدة مئات من الصور الفردية التي التُقطت باستخدام الكاميرا الكوكبية واسعة المجال 2 (WFPC2) الخاصة بتلسكوب هابل الفضائي لأكثر من 10 أيام في سبتمبر وأكتوبر 1998. وجاء ذلك بعد النجاح الكبير الذي حققه حقل هابل العميق الأصلي في تسهيل دراسة المجرات فائقة البُعد في المراحل الأولى من تطورها، بينما أخذت الـ WFPC2 صور بصرية عميقة جدًا، تم تصوير الحقول المجاورة في نفس الوقت من قِبل المحلل الطيفي التصويري للتلسكوب الفضائي (STIS) وكاميرا المجال القريب من تحت الأحمر والمطياف متعدد الأجسام (NICMOS). Va ser una continuació del gran èxit aconseguit per la imatge camp profund de l'Hubble o Hubble Deep Field en facilitar l'estudi de galàxies extremadament llunyanes en les primeres etapes de la seva evolució. - The Hubble Deep Field South is a composite of several hundred individual images taken using the Hubble Space Telescope's Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 over 10 days in September and October 1998. It followed the great success of the original Hubble Deep Field in facilitating the study of extremely distant galaxies in early stages of their evolution. While the WFPC2 took very deep optical images, nearby fields were simultaneously imaged by the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) and the Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS). Segue il grande successo dell'originale Hubble Deep Field nel facilitare lo studio delle galassie estremamente lontane nella loro evoluzione.Mentre la WPC2 acquisì immagini ottiche a estrema profondità, i campi vicini furono simultaneamente acquisiti dallo Spettrografo del Telescopio Spaziale (STIS) e da Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS). As imagens utilizadas foram obtidas através do telescópio espacial Hubble durante uma observação de dez dias em outubro de 1998 numa pequena região na constelação de Tucana. Seguiu o sucesso do Campo Profundo do Hubble, entretanto mirando agora uma região do hemisfério sul. (pt)

Hubble Deep Field South, w skrócie HDF-S) – obraz niewielkiego obszaru nieba południowego w gwiazdozbiorze Tukana, bazujący na serii obserwacji Kosmicznym Teleskopem Hubble’a. Wykonane zdjęcie jest złożeniem kilkuset osobnych ekspozycji wykonywanych przy pomocy Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 w ciągu 10 dni we wrześniu i październiku 1998. Obraz HDF-S bardzo przypomina wykonane 3 lata wcześniej Głębokie Pole Hubble’a, co umacnia zasadę kosmologiczną, która mówi, że Wszechświat w wielkich skalach jest jednorodny. (pl)

Elle faisait suite au grand succès réservé au Champ profond de Hubble original, le HDF-N (voir ci-dessous), qui avait facilité l'étude des galaxies extrêmement éloignées, et particulièrement les étapes initiales de leur formation et de leur évolution.
