The Hungarian invasion of Carpatho-Ukraine was a 1939 military conflict between the Kingdom of Hungary and Carpatho-Ukraine. During the war, a series of bloody clashes took place between Hungarian troops and paramilitary formations of the Carpathian Sich of Carpathian Ukraine and Czechoslovak troops. The war ended with the occupation and subsequent annexation of the territory of Transcarpathian Ukraine (Subcarpathian Rus') to the Kingdom of Hungary. This territory was later invaded by the Soviet Union and given to Ukraine.
