The Institut d’histoire du temps présent, also known as IHTP (English: Institute of the history of the current age) is a French research unit within the CNRS. Since September 2019 IHTP has been located on the Condorcet campus of the Paris 8 University Vincennes-Saint-Denis at Aubervilliers.IHTP focuses on the phenomenon of war in the 20th-century and on systems of political domination such as authoritarianism, totalitarianism and colonialism. It also examines the cultural history of contemporary societies and the epistemology of present day history in terms of its relationship to the past through the specific medium of memory, witness and the role of historians amidst population centres.

Com a emergência de pesquisadores como René Rémond, e o próprio François Bedaridá, no campo da Nova História Política, que buscava analisar processos recentes, o IHTP passou a ganhar espaço no cenário nacional e internacional. Atualmente, o IHTP é presidido por , um pesquisador francês que estuda não apenas temáticas de investigação já consolidadas dentro do Instituto, como o Nazismo ou os movimentos antissemitistas, mas também a História do Audiovisual e do Cinema. Entre os integrantes atuais, encontra-se Henry Rousso, um dos principais investigadores acerca da História do Tempo Presente. Conhecido por seus estudos sobre o regime de Vichy, Rousso foi também diretor do IHTP entre 1994 e 2005, auxiliando diretamente na constituição do Instituto e do próprio campo de estudo por meio de suas abordagens.
