James Hilton (1884–1943) was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1900s and 1910s. He played at representative level for England and Yorkshire (as a result of playing in the West Riding of Yorkshire, and despite being born in Lancashire), and at club level for Tyldesley ARLFC (not Tyldesley RLFC), Leigh, Halifax, Wigan (Heritage No. 311), and Keighley, as a stand-off, or scrum-half.
