John Moynihan (born 29 October 1946, Phibsboro) is an Irish folk singer, based in Dublin. He is often credited with introducing the bouzouki into Irish music in the mid-1960s.

In die tijd deed hij ook mee aan de sessies met de eerste Dubliners in de folk-pub O'Donoghue's in Dublin. In 1973 speelde hij in Planxty nadat Dónal Lunny de groep had verlaten. Daarna speelde hij bij De Dannan. Ook op een aantal andere albums verleende hij zijn medewerking. (nl) Johnny Moynihan (Dublino, ...) è un cantante e chitarrista irlandese. È membro fondatore degli Sweeney's Men, band che ha segnato i primi passi del in Irlanda. A lui si deve l'introduzione nella musica tradizionale irlandese del bouzouki, strumento di origine greca che, opportunamente modificato, oggi ha un suo corrispettivo nel bouzouki irlandese.
