The Junge Akademie at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina is supported by the two oldest scientific academies in Germany, and represents an interdisciplinary platform for up-and-coming academics.Its membership comprises fifty young academics and artists from a broad range of disciplines. All hail from the German-speaking countries and are committed to interdisciplinary discourse. Each year sees ten new members elected for a period of five years.The Junge Akademie was founded in 2000 as the world's first national institution for the promotion of young academics. Numerous countries have since used it as a model for the establishment of their own national academies for young academics.

Au moment de sa fondation en l'an 2000, l'Académie était la toute première institution au monde consacrée à la promotion de la génération de jeunes chercheurs au niveau national. - La Junge Akademie de l'Académie des sciences de Berlin-Brandebourg (BBAW) et de la Leopoldina est une structure de recherche interdisciplinaire pour le soutien de la génération montante de jeunes scientifiques ; elle est portée par ces deux académies des sciences allemandes les plus anciennes. L'Académie compte cinquante membres élus pour cinq ans ; ce sont de jeunes chercheurs et artistes de disciplines diverses issus de l'espace germanophone, et qui se consacrent à un parcours interdisciplinaire. Chaque année dix membres sont remplacés, à l'issue de leur présence de cinq ans, par dix nouveaux membres élus pour une durée de cinq ans. Au moment de sa fondation en l'an 2000, l'Académie était la toute première institution au monde consacrée à la promotion de la génération de jeunes chercheurs au niveau national.
