- Juraj Filas (5 March 1955 – 31 December 2021) was a Slovak composer. His work included more than 100 compositions: symphonies, cantatas, numerous compositions for chamber ensemble, as well as the prize-winning TV opera Memento Mori; a concerto grosso Copernicus; the opera Jane Eyre (2010); The Wisdom of the Wise Man, a cantata for choir, cello and organ; The Song of Solomon, a cantata for soli, choir and orchestra; and the requiem Oratio Spei, which was dedicated to the victims of terrorism. - Juraj Filas (5. března 1955 Košice – 31. prosince 2021) byl slovenský hudební skladatel a pedagog žijící v Praze. Na pražské konzervatoři vystudoval 2 obory – kompozici u Jana Zdeňka Bartoše a zpěv. Na HAMU v Praze absolvoval skladbu u Jiřího Pauera v roce 1981 a tamtéž v roce 1985 interní uměleckou aspiranturu. Od r. 1985 zde vyučoval na katedře skladby hlavní obor a historické kompoziční studie. Byl laureátem řady pěveckých i skladatelských soutěží. (cs)
