In West Bengal they are found mainly in Purulia district but also in other districts as the surname of 'Kandu', 'Saw', 'Shaw', 'Gupta' etc. Appreciate In Nepal they are found in the Terai from Jhapa district in the southeast corner west to Banke as well as in Kathmandu.
