Lawrence Beaumont Stringer (February 24, 1866 – December 5, 1942) was a U.S. Representative from Illinois. Born near Atlantic City, New Jersey, Stringer moved with his parents to Lincoln, Illinois, in 1876. He attended the public schools. He was graduated from Lincoln University (later Lincoln College) in 1887. Reporter on a local paper. He served as member of the State house of representatives 1890-1892. He entered the Chicago College of Law (law department of Lake Forest University), and was graduated in 1896. He returned to Lincoln, Illinois, in 1898 and commenced practice. He served as delegate to the Democratic State convention in 1900 and served as chairman. He served as member of the State senate 1900-1904. He was an unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Governor of Illinois in 1904
