Juntament amb Le Soleil, forma l'un dels diari més llegits del Quebec. S'edita en llengua francesa, té caràcter generalista, fou creat l'any 1967 per Pierre Péladeau on es va imprimir al principi a Montreal. Actualment és propietat del grup Sun Media (Quebecor Media) i acostuma a ser titllat com a tabloide per les seves portades i títols sensacionalistes. (ca)

Im Jahr 2013 betrug die Auflage von Montag bis Freitag 156.568 Exemplare, an Samstagen 167.171 Exemplare und an Sonntagen 158.383 Exemplare; dies entspricht einem Durchschnitt von 158.342. Printed in tabloid format, it has the highest circulation for a Quebec City newspaper, with its closest competitor being Le Soleil. It was founded March 6, 1967, by Pierre Péladeau, founder of Quebecor. Like its sister paper, the much more widely-read Le Journal de Montréal, it was established by Pierre Péladeau and is owned by Quebecor Média. As an answer to the lockout, the workers launched their own free daily newspaper, MédiaMatin Québec. (en)
