Les Compagnons de la chanson were a French vocal group from Lyon, France, founded during World War II. Before 1946, they were part of a larger choir, the Compagnons de la musique. The group met Edith Piaf first in 1944, and performed in German-occupied Paris. In 1946, they recorded a French language song, "Les trois cloches" along with Edith Piaf, which was written in 1945 by Jean Villard Gilles and Marc Herrand. English lyrics were later added by Bert Reisfeld, first recorded by the Melody Maids in 1948.

V roce 1946 se devět jeho členů rozhodlo osamostatnit pod pozměněným názvem a spojilo se s Édith Piaf, kterou doprovázeli na jejím americkém turné. V roce 1948 účinkovali ve filmu Neuf garçons, un cœur. Zpívali zpočátku a cappella, později zařadili i doprovod orchestru, při vystoupení byli jednotně oblečeni do modrých kalhot a bílých košil. Vystupovali po celém světě, pořádali až tři sta koncertů ročně a vydali 350 nahrávek. Jejich největším hitem byla píseň „Les trois cloches“. Poslední koncert skupiny se konal 14. února 1985 v Nogent-sur-Marne. (cs)
