A light table is a viewing device that is used to review photographic film or artwork placed on top of it. A horizontal form of a self-standing lightbox, it provides even illumination of the subject from below through a translucent cover and fluorescent lights that emit little heat. They are mainly used in the trades of graphics to trace designs, especially in the world of cartoon or comics. Another use is for example to review film negatives, photoliths or any kind of artwork that can be placed on top of a table for working with it.

После обработки получается прямое изображение оригинала (если фотобумага лежала чувствительным слоем вверх) или зеркальное (если вниз).
* Рефлексное — фотобумага располагается на столешнице чувствительным слоем вверх и накрывается оригиналом, изображением вниз. Оригинал может быть непрозрачным или содержать постороннее изображение на обороте. Засветка фотобумаги осуществляется светом, отражённым от незакрашенных участков оригинала; закрашенные же участки поглощают свет, и засветка фотобумаги в этих местах меньше. Рефлексный способ позволяет получить более точную копию оригинала, однако зеркальную и сильно завуалированную проходящим светом. Для получения рабочих копий необходимо повторное копирование (на просвет или опять рефлексно), оборачивающее зеркальное изображение в прямое. (ru)
