- Lincoln Castle ist eine große Burg, die Wilhelm der Eroberer im 11. Jahrhundert in Lincoln anstelle einer römischen Festung erbauen ließ. Unüblich ist, dass die Burg aus zwei Motten besteht. Neben Lincoln Castle wurde nur noch Lewes Castle in Sussex in dieser Bauweise erstellt. Die Burg diente bis vor Kurzem als Gefängnis und Gerichtsgebäude und ist eine der besser erhaltenen Burgen im Lande. Die Crown Courts sind heute noch dort angesiedelt. Daneben gibt es ein Museum in der Burg. Lincoln Castle ist eine der beeindruckendsten normannischen Burgen im Vereinigten Königreich. (de)

- Lincoln Castle is a major medieval castle constructed in Lincoln, England, during the late 11th century by William the Conqueror on the site of a pre-existing Roman fortress. The castle is unusual in that it has two mottes. It is one of only two such castles in the country, the other being at Lewes in East Sussex. Lincoln Castle remained in use as a prison and court into modern times and is one of the better preserved castles in England; the Crown Courts continue to this day. It is open to the public most days of the week and possible to walk around the walls from which there are views of the castle complex, cathedral, the city, and surrounding countryside. The castle is now owned by Lincolnshire County Council and is a scheduled monument. (en)

- Lincoln Castle is een groot kasteel in Lincoln, Engeland. Het werd aan het einde van de 11e eeuw door Willem de Veroveraar op de plaats van een reeds bestaand Romeins fort gebouwd. Het kasteel is een zogenaamd mottekasteel. Ongebruikelijk in dit geval is dat het twee mottes (aarden heuvels) betreft. Er is slechts één ander dergelijk kasteel in Engeland, in Lewes in Sussex. Lincoln Castle bleef tot in de moderne tijd in gebruik als gevangenis en rechtbank, en is een van de beter bewaarde kastelen in Engeland. Tegenwoordig is het voor het publiek geopend als museum. (nl)

É um dos dois únicos castelos desse tipo no país, sendo o outro em Lewes, em East Sussex. O Castelo de Lincoln permaneceu em uso como prisão e tribunal até os tempos modernos e é um dos castelos mais bem preservados da Inglaterra; os tribunais da coroa continuam até hoje. Está aberto ao público na maioria dos dias da semana e é possível caminhar em volta das muralhas, de onde se avistam o complexo do castelo, a catedral, a cidade e a paisagem circundante.
