Aizoaceae Martynov, nom. cons. (fig-marigold family) is a large family of dicotyledonous flowering plants in the order Caryophyllales containing 135 currently accepted genera and about 1800 species. They are commonly known as ice plants, carpet weeds or vygies. 169 genera are represented in the literature.
