Atari SA is a French holding company originally founded in 1983 as Infogrames Entertainment, S.A. by businessman and politician Bruno Bonnell. Throughout the period between 1996-2003, the company embarked on a "Expansion through Acquisition" policy that led to the company becoming the largest video game publisher in Europe until debt and losses ended up with the company selling everything off, and filing for bankruptcy in 2013.
