The Lordship of Batiscan was located on, and included 1/2 lieue of frontage along, the north shore of the St. Lawrence River (between the mouth of the Batisan and Champlain Rivers, in the current administrative area the Mauricie) in the province of Quebec, Canada. La colonisation remontait alors vers le nord dans l'arrière fief, au nord de la moraine de Saint-Narcisse, car les lots au pied de la moraine étaient occupés. Cette nouvelle aire de colonisation constitue aujourd'hui le territoire actuel de Saint-Stanislas dont les registres d'état civil s'ouvrent en 1787. Colonization north into pioneer zones north of the Saint-Narcisse moraine because lots below the moraine were fully settled. Today this area is included in Saint-Stanislas, Mauricie, Quebec whose civil registers opened in 1787.
