| - Der Lotus 49 war ein Formel-1-Rennwagen, gebaut und eingesetzt von 1967 bis 1970 vom britischen Formel-1-Team Lotus. Der Lotus 49 setzte 1967 Maßstäbe im Rennwagenbau und ging als erstes Formel-1-Fahrzeug, in dessen Heck ein Ford-Cosworth-Motor lief, in die Geschichte des Grand-Prix-Sports ein. Nach dem unsicheren ersten Jahr der 3-Liter-Formel, die 1966 in der Formel 1 eingeführt wurde, galt der Lotus 49 als wegweisend für die Teams dieser Formel. (de)

När CSI införde trelitersformeln till säsongen 1966 gjorde Colin Chapman det olyckliga valet att använda BRM:s H 16-motor till sin trelitersbil Lotus 43. Det blev en bortkastad säsong där både BRM och Lotus kämpade med den usla tillförlitligheten hos den komplicerade motorn. Chapman sökte efter en ny motorleverantör och vände sig till Mike Costin och Keith Duckworth på Cosworth. (sv)

- El Lotus 49 fue un coche de carreras de Fórmula 1 diseñado por Colin Chapman y Maurice Philippe para la temporada de F1 de 1967. Se diseñó en torno al motor Cosworth DFV que impulsaría la mayor parte de la parrilla de la Fórmula 1 durante la década de 1970. Fue uno de los primeros coches de F1 en utilizar un tren motriz con barras de tensión para reducir el peso, y el primero en ser copiado por otros equipos. (es)
- The Lotus 49 was a Formula One racing car designed by Colin Chapman and Maurice Philippe for the 1967 F1 season. It was designed around the Cosworth DFV engine that would power most of the Formula One grid through the 1970s. It was one of the first F1 cars to use a stressed member engine combined with a monocoque to reduce weight, with other teams adopting the concept after its success. It also pioneered the use of aerofoils to generate downforce. (en)
