The Maharaja Lela-class frigate, also known as the littoral combat ship (LCS), is a class of six stealth frigates being built for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). First announced as the Second Generation Patrol Vessel in 2011, the ships are based on an enlarged version of the Gowind-class corvette, designed by Naval Group, formerly known as DCNS of France.

Le contrat a été finalisé et il a été décidé que les six navires seront construits par le constructeur naval malaisien (en) pour la marine royale malaisienne à un prix plafond de 9 milliards de RM (2,8 milliards de dollars américains) à partir de 2015 . Kapal ini berdasarkan korvet kelas Gowind yang diperbesar, dirancang oleh DCNS dari France. Kontrak telah diselesaikan dan Boustead Holdings Berhad akan memproduksi keenam kapal untuk Angkatan Laut Malaysia dengan harga puncak RM9 miliar (US$2.8 miliar), dimulai sejak 2015. Kapal ini memiliki panjang 111 meter dengan bobot 3.100 ton.
