Aquest va ser el primer museu d'aquest gènere al món, totalment dedicat a la memòria de les atrocitats comeses a la xarxa dels camps de treball forçós i dels seus subcamps durant la Segona Guerra Mundial. - The Majdanek State Museum (Polish: Państwowe Muzeum na Majdanku) is a memorial museum and education centre founded in the fall of 1944 on the grounds of the Nazi Germany Majdanek death camp located in Lublin, Poland. It was the first museum of its kind in the world, devoted entirely to the memory of atrocities committed in the network of concentration, slave-labor, and extermination camps and subcamps of KL Lublin during World War II. The museum performs several tasks including scholarly research into the Holocaust in Poland. It houses a permanent collection of rare artifacts, archival photographs, and testimony. (en)

Ce fut le premier musée du genre au monde, entièrement consacré à la mémoire des atrocités commises dans le réseau des camps de travail forcé pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. - Państwowe Muzeum na Majdanku – Niemiecki Nazistowski Obóz Koncentracyjny i Zagłady (1941–1944) – muzeum martyrologiczne powstałe w 1944 r. na terenie dawnego nazistowskiego obozu koncentracyjnego KL Lublin. Jest instytucją podległą bezpośrednio Ministerstwu Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Muzeum prowadzi działalność wystawienniczą, edukacyjną i naukową. Od 2004 roku oddziałem zamiejscowym PMM jest Muzeum – Miejsce Pamięci w Bełżcu, a od 2012 roku – Muzeum Byłego Obozu Zagłady w Sobiborze. (pl)
