Marechal Carmona Dam, also known as Idanha Dam, Idanha-a-Nova Lake and Idanha-a-Nova Reservoir, is a dam on the in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, District of Castelo Branco, in Portugal. Named after Óscar Carmona, a Portuguese Army officer and politician, it is a gravity type dam located besides a tight granite throat over the Campinas, in Idanha-a-Nova municipality. The dam began to fill in 1946 during Estado Novo. A few kilometres outside the town of Idanha-a-Nova lies this dam which completely transformed the landscape of the valley and separated the two Idanhas – the Nova (New) and the Velha (Old). Die namensgebende Kleinstadt Idanha-a-Nova liegt ungefähr zwei Kilometer südwestlich der Talsperre. Mit dem Projekt zur Errichtung der Talsperre wurde im Jahre 1935 begonnen. Der Bau wurde 1947 fertiggestellt. Die Talsperre dient neben der Bewässerung auch der Stromerzeugung. Sie ist im Besitz der Associação de Regantes e Beneficiários de Idanha-a-Nova. (de)

O organismo responsável pela coordenação da construção foi a então (J.A.O.H.A.), cujas iniciais ainda se encontram esculpidas na estrutura principal sob um enorme Brasão Nacional Português. A barragem destinava-se ao aproveitamento das águas para a agricultura e para a produção hidroelétrica, contando para isso com um grupo gerador com uma turbina Francis, que num ano médio produz 4.5 Gwh de electricidade. Hoje em dia, a sua albufeira é um local de grande atração turística, existindo ali o Parque de Campismo Municipal de Idanha-de-Nova. (pt)
