Maredret Abbey (also known as l’Abbaye des saints Jean et Scolastique) is a monastery of Benedictine nuns in Wallonia, located on the edge of , a very small village in the hilly countryside to the south of Charleroi and Namur. The abbey was inaugurated with the installation of seven nuns in 1893, and the abbey church was constructed between 1898 and 1907. Maredret is affiliated with the Congregation of the Annunciation within the Benedictine Confederation.

- L'abbaye des saints Jean et Scolastique, plus connue sous le nom abbaye de Maredret, est un monastère de moniales bénédictines, situé à l'écart du village de Maredret, dans l'Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse, en Belgique. Fondé en 1893 par sept moniales, il est affilié à la congrégation de l'Annonciation au sein de la confédération bénédictine. Agnès de Hemptinne y devint la première abbesse. Elle participa activement à la construction de l'église abbatiale et à sa décoration. Un atelier d’enluminure fut créé dès la fondation de l'abbaye. La célèbre lettre pastorale du Cardinal Mercier y fut calligraphiée et enluminée par les moniales bénédictines dans les années 1915 et 1916. Cette enluminure a été classée au Patrimoine mobilier de la Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles en 2015. (fr)
