Mark Pieth (born 9 March 1953) is Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Basel, Switzerland and a prominent anti-corruption expert. Pieth's career as a legal expert, defence lawyer, judge and compliance advisor includes several roles on the international stage, such as a member of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering, Chair of a United Nations Intergovernmental Expert Group on illicit drug trafficking and 24 years as Chair of the OECD Working Group on Bribery, which monitors the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention.

Eine Aufgabe dieser Kommission war, die FIFA zu reformieren und ihr zu mehr Glaubwürdigkeit zu verhelfen. Pieth beschuldigte dabei zahlreiche hochrangige Funktionäre, die Erneuerung der FIFA massiv zu behindern. Von April bis Anfang August 2016 war Pieth Mitglied eines von der Regierung Panamas eingesetzten Expertengremiums, das nach dem Skandal um die Panama Papers Vorschläge für eine verbesserte Transparenz der Finanz- und Rechtssysteme des Landes erarbeiten sollte. Gemeinsam mit dem Leiter des Gremiums, Joseph Stiglitz, zog er sich aus Protest daraus zurück mit der Begründung, die Regierung habe die Arbeit der Kommission zu beschränken versucht. 2020 eröffnete er ein Anwaltsbüro, das auf Gutachten in internationalen Verfahren spezialisiert ist. He is President of the Basel Institute on Governance, a research and policy institute he founded to help combat public and private sector abuses of power. (en)
