- Ruang kendali utama (bahasa Inggris: master control room, disingkat MCR) atau disebut juga ruang kendali siaran merupakan ruangan yang berisikan perangkat teknis utama penyiaran dalam mengontrol segala proses siaran stasiun televisi. MCR menjadi pusat dari segala kegiatan produksi siaran yang ada di stasiun penyiaran televisi. MCR sangat penting karena semua materi siaran baik acara secara langsung (live) maupun rekaman di studio, atau kejadian yang langsung dari suatu lokasi di luar studio melalui OB Van atau mobil siaran, harus melalui MCR terlebih dahulu, sebelum akhirnya dipancarkan ke satelit. Materi siaran berupa iklan, logo stasiun televisi, program-program acara, teks berjalan, dan sebagainya, semuanya telah disiapkan di MCR untuk ditayangkan. (in)

Tutti i segnali entranti vengono ricevuti dalla centrale video, che a sua volta è in grado di instradarli verso studi, salette di montaggio e reparto di emissione, e in generale ovunque ce ne sia bisogno. Se necessario, i segnali possono essere convertiti nel formato e nel rapporto d'aspetto. La centrale gestisce anche gli eventuali segnali audio di coordinamento e ritorno, che vengono di solito trasportati da linee telefoniche tradizionali (tramite un ibrido telefonico) o ISDN. (it)

In den meisten MCR befinden sich diverse Bildschirme, welche auch die End-Signale der Produktion über den Weg des normalen Konsumenten (beispielsweise Kabelanschluss oder Satellit) wiedergeben. Dans le cadre d'une chaîne de stock, aucun direct (live) n'est diffusé, tous les programmes sont sur des serveurs en attente de leur diffusion, c'est la playlist qui se jouera automatiquement en enchaînant les programmes. Dans le cadre d'une chaîne de direct (live), la régie est liée à des moyens de productions internes ou externes. Dans ce cas, dans le conducteur antenne de la régie sont intégrés des breaks durant lesquels des émissions en direct sont diffusés à la place de programme de stock. À l'horaire programmé du direct, la régie de diffusion fera un décompte à la régie de production ou à une source extérieure. Master control is the final point before a signal is transmitted over-the-air for terrestrial television or cablecast, satellite provider for broadcast, or sent on to a cable television operator. Television master control rooms include banks of video monitors, satellite receivers, videotape machines, video servers, transmission equipment, and, more recently, computer broadcast automation equipment for recording and playback of television programming. Master control is generally staffed with one or two master control operators around-the-clock to ensure continuous operation. Master control operators are responsible for monitoring the quality and accuracy of the on-air product, ensuring the transmission meets government regulations, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and preparing programming for playout. Regulations include both technical ones (such as those against over-modulation and dead air), as well as content ones (such as indecency and station ID). Many television networks and radio networks or station groups have consolidated facilities and now operate multiple stations from one regional master control or centralcasting center. An example of this centralized broadcast programming system on a large scale is NBC's "hub-spoke project" that enables a single "hub" to have control of dozens of stations' automation systems and to monitor their air signals, thus reducing or eliminating some responsibilities of local employees at their owned-and-operated (O&O) stations. Outside the United States, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) manages four radio networks, two broadcast television networks, and several more cable/satellite radio and television services out of just two master control points (English language services at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto and French language at Maison Radio-Canada in Montreal).
