The Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation and Management of Marine Turtles and their Habitats of the Indian Ocean and South-East Asia is an intergovernmental agreement that aims to protect, conserve, replenish and recover sea turtles and their habitats in the Indian Ocean and South-East Asian region, working in partnership with other relevant actors and organizations. The MoU was concluded in Bonn, Germany on 23 June 2001 and came into effect on 1 September 2001. The intent is that it will remain open for signature indefinitely.
