Carmen Gal Orendain, better known as Menchu Gal, (Irún, Guipúzcoa, 7 January 1919 – San Sebastián, Guipúzcoa, 12 March 2008) was a Spanish painter from the Basque Country. Her work in landscapes and portraits made her famous with her personal attraction to vivid colors. In 1959, she became the first woman to be awarded Spain's National Painting Prize.

Venne scelta in tre diverse occasioni per rappresentare la Spagna alla Biennale di Venezia (1940, 1950, 1956). Ha tenuto esposizioni personali ed ha ricevuto numerosi premi. Sue opere si trovano nel Museo Reina Sofia di Madrid. È inoltre prevista l'esposizione di sue opere ad Irún nel nuovo "Museo Menchu Gal dei pittori del Bidasoa".
