An der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität wurde er als Mitarbeiter der Arbeitsgruppe um Wolfgang Stegmüller habilitiert. Er war, bis zu seiner Emeritierung, Lehrstuhlinhaber für Computational Design an der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal.
