Mr. Stringy, also known as The Wooden Man or just The Man, is a piece of folk art that has become a popular tourist attraction on the Great Alpine Road in East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The first Mr. Stringy was carved into a tree stump in about 1929, whereas the current Mr. Stringy was carved from a stringybark log buried into ground in the mid-to-late 1960s. He is regularly repainted as different characters by anonymous community members.
