The Museum of the Liberation of Rome (Italian: Museo storico della Liberazione - Roma) is located in an apartment building at Via Tasso 145, Rome, close to the basilica of St. John Lateran. It records the period of German occupation of Rome (September 1943 - June 1944) in the Second World War and its subsequent liberation. The building housing the museum was used by the SS to torture members of the Italian Resistance in the first half of 1944.

El va ser la seu de la SS a Roma i entre les seves parets van ser empresonats, torturats i assassinats molts membres de la resistència italiana. El 4 de juny de 1944, durant l'alliberació de Roma, la població va entrar al palau, símbol del nazisme, i van saquejar-lo i alliberar-ne els presoners. L'edifici durant un temps també va ser la seu de l'Associació Nacional de Partisans d'Itàlia, i no va ser fins a l'any 1950 que la seva propietària el va donar a l'Estat i es creà el Museu Històric de l'Alliberament de Roma, un museu commemoratiu que recull documents, objectes, fotografies… relacionades amb l'ocupació nazi de la capital itali (ca) Das Museo storico della Liberazione (deutsch Historisches Museum der Befreiung) in Rom sammelt Originaldokumente, Erinnerungsstücke, Zeitungen und Plakate, Flyer, Schriften und ikonographische Materialien im Zusammenhang mit der deutschen Besetzung Roms im Zweiten Weltkrieg. Das Museum befindet sich in dem Gebäude in der Via Tasso 145, das während der deutschen Besetzung Roms vom 11. September 1943 bis 4. Juni 1944 als Ort der Inhaftierung und Folter durch die SS für über 2000 Antifaschisten berüchtigt wurde.
