Nagamese ("Naga Pidgin") is an Assamese-lexified creole language which, depending on location, has also been described and classified as an "extended pidgin" or "pidgincreole". Spoken natively by an estimated 30,000 people in the Indian northeastern state of Nagaland, it developed primarily as a means of marketplace and trade communication. Despite the official language of the state being English, Nagamese functions as a lingua franca that is spoken by nearly the entirety of Nagaland inhabitants. Vznikl pro komunikaci mezi těmito obchodníky a místními domorodci. Protože se v Nágálandu mluví mnoha jazyky, nágálandská kreolština se zde používá jako lingua franca, přestože oficiálním jazykem státu je angličtina, kterou umí 67,11 % populace v této oblasti.
