De Nationale Vergadering telt 143 leden die middels een tweeronden systeem worden gekozen. Wie van de twee overgebleven kandidaten per kiesdistrict de meeste stemmen heeft gekregen, is de winnaar van een zetel. Het parlement wordt sinds de onafhankelijkheid (1960) gedomineerd door de Parti démocratique gabonais (PDG). Van 1968 tot 1990 was de PDG overigens de enige toegestane partij van het land. (nl) Zgromadzenie Narodowe (fr. Assemblée Nationale) - izba niższa parlamentu Gabonu, złożona ze 120 członków wybieranych na pięcioletnią kadencję. W wyborach stosuje się ordynację większościową i okręgi wyborcze, którym przypisane jest od 9 do 18 mandatów. Głosowanie w wyborach jest obowiązkowe, pod rygorem grzywny. Udział biorą w nim obywatele Gabonu w wieku co najmniej 21 lat, cieszący się pełnią praw publicznych. Dla kandydatów obowiązuje wyższy cenzus wieku, wynoszący 28 lat. (pl) Национальное собрание, или Национальная ассамблея, (фр. Assemblée nationale) Габона — нижняя палата парламента Габона, в то время как верхняя палата — Сенат. Собрание состоит из 120 депутатов, избираемых на 5 лет. 111 депутатов избираются в ходе прямых всеобщих выборов, проходящих по одномандатным округам, а 9 оставшихся депутатов назначаются президентом.
